1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using InterviewSTAR ("Service", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

InterviewSTAR provides an interview preparation platform that helps users:

• Track career milestones and achievements
• Upload and parse resumes (PDF, DOCX formats)
• Generate AI-powered STAR format interview answers
• Manage professional experiences and feedback
• Access premium features through paid subscription

3. Account Registration

To use InterviewSTAR, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Subscription Plans

4.1 Free Plan

Our Free Plan provides basic access to the platform with limited features. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue Free Plan features at any time.

4.2 Pro Plan

Our Pro Plan is a paid subscription service that provides:

• Unlimited milestone tracking
• Advanced AI-powered features
• Resume upload and analysis
• Priority support
• Additional features as announced

4.3 Billing

• Pricing: $5.00 USD/month or ₹472 INR/month (including applicable taxes)
• Billing Cycle: Monthly subscription with automatic renewal
• Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely through Stripe
• Auto-Renewal: Your subscription will automatically renew unless canceled
• Price Changes: We will notify you 30 days before any price increases

5. Cancellation and Refunds

• You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your account settings
• Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period
• You will retain access to Pro features until the end of your paid period
• No refunds are provided for partial months or unused portions of your subscription
• Exceptions may be made at our sole discretion for technical issues or service failures

6. User Content

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload, including resumes, milestones, experiences, and other data ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant us a license to:

• Store and process your User Content
• Use AI to analyze and generate responses based on your User Content
• Display your User Content to you through our Service

We will not share your User Content with third parties except as necessary to provide the Service (e.g., cloud storage providers, AI processing services) or as required by law.

6.2 Prohibited Content

You may not upload or submit content that:

• Violates any law or regulation
• Infringes on intellectual property rights
• Contains malware or malicious code
• Is false, misleading, or fraudulent
• Contains personal information of others without consent

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service

8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

InterviewSTAR uses artificial intelligence to generate interview preparation content. Please note:

• AI-generated content is for guidance and preparation purposes only
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or effectiveness of AI-generated responses
• You should review and customize all AI-generated content before use
• AI outputs may vary and are not a substitute for professional career advice
• We are not responsible for interview outcomes based on our content

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, code, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by InterviewSTAR and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute our software or content
• Use our trademarks without permission
• Create derivative works based on our Service

10. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data. However:

• No internet transmission is 100% secure
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials
• We are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from your actions

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for:

• Violation of these Terms of Service
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Extended periods of inactivity
• At our discretion to protect the Service or other users

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

12.1 Service "As Is"

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

12.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INTERVIEWSTAR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR OPPORTUNITIES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50 USD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless InterviewSTAR, its affiliates, and personnel from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Your User Content

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Posting the updated Terms on our website
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending an email notification for significant changes

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which InterviewSTAR operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.

16. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute, you agree to first contact us to seek resolution informally. If we cannot resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may pursue formal resolution through arbitration or litigation as permitted by law.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
