Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains our refund and cancellation procedures for InterviewSTAR Pro subscriptions.
1. Subscription Overview
InterviewSTAR offers two service tiers:
- Free Plan: Basic features available at no cost
- Pro Plan: Premium features for $5.00 USD/month or ₹472 INR/month (including applicable taxes)
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly and automatically renew unless canceled.
2. Cancellation Policy
2.1 How to Cancel
You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time by:
- Visiting your Account Settings
- Navigating to the Subscription section
- Clicking "Cancel Subscription"
- Confirming your cancellation
Alternatively, you can email us at support@interviewstar.com with your cancellation request.
2.2 When Cancellation Takes Effect
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
- You will retain access to Pro features until the end of your paid period
- You will not be charged for subsequent months
- After the billing period ends, your account will automatically revert to the Free Plan
Example: If you cancel on January 15th and your billing date is January 20th, you'll have Pro access until January 20th. No refund will be issued for the remaining 5 days, but you won't be charged on January 20th.
2.3 After Cancellation
- Your account will remain active with Free Plan features
- Your data (milestones, experiences) will be preserved
- Some features will be limited or unavailable on the Free Plan
- You can resubscribe to Pro at any time
3. Refund Policy
3.1 Standard Refund Policy
No Refunds: As a general rule, we do not offer refunds for Pro subscriptions. All sales are final. You may cancel at any time to prevent future charges.
3.2 Exceptions
We may issue refunds at our sole discretion in the following circumstances:
- Technical Issues: If our service was unavailable or non-functional for an extended period
- Billing Errors: If you were charged incorrectly or multiple times by mistake
- Unauthorized Charges: If your account was compromised and charges were made without your authorization
- First-Time Subscribers: We may offer a one-time courtesy refund within 7 days of first subscription (at our discretion)
3.3 Requesting a Refund
To request a refund under exceptional circumstances:
- Email support@interviewstar.com with subject "Refund Request"
- Include your account email and subscription details
- Explain the reason for your refund request
- Provide any relevant documentation or screenshots
We will review your request within 5 business days and respond via email.
3.4 Refund Processing
If your refund is approved:
- Refunds will be processed to your original payment method
- Processing time: 5-10 business days (depending on your payment provider)
- You will receive a confirmation email when the refund is processed
- Your Pro subscription will be immediately canceled
4. Subscription Modifications
4.1 Downgrading to Free
To downgrade from Pro to Free, simply cancel your subscription. You will keep Pro access until the end of your billing period.
4.2 Resubscribing to Pro
- You can resubscribe to Pro at any time from your account settings
- Billing will start immediately upon resubscription
- No discounts are offered for returning subscribers
4.3 Price Changes
- We reserve the right to change subscription prices
- You will be notified at least 30 days before any price increase
- New prices will apply at your next renewal date
- You may cancel before the price increase takes effect
5. Failed Payments
5.1 Payment Retry
If your payment fails:
- We will attempt to charge your payment method up to 3 times
- You will receive email notifications about failed payments
- You can update your payment method in account settings
5.2 Subscription Suspension
- If payment fails after 3 attempts, your Pro subscription will be suspended
- Your account will revert to the Free Plan
- Your data will be preserved for 90 days
- You can reactivate by updating your payment method
6. Chargebacks and Disputes
Important: If you dispute a charge with your payment provider (chargeback) without contacting us first:
- Your account will be immediately suspended
- Your access to Pro features will be revoked
- We may permanently ban your account
- Chargeback fees may be assessed

7. Promotional Offers and Discounts
- Promotional offers are subject to specific terms and conditions
- Discounts are typically non-refundable
- Promotional pricing may be available for a limited time only
- We reserve the right to modify or cancel promotions at any time
8. Account Termination by InterviewSTAR
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that violate our Terms of Service. In such cases:
- No refunds will be issued for remaining subscription time
- Access to the Service will be immediately revoked
- We may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy
9. Taxes and Regional Pricing
9.1 United States (USD)
- Price: $5.00 USD/month
- Sales tax may apply depending on your location
9.2 India (INR)
- Price: ₹472 INR/month (includes 18% GST)
- GST-compliant invoices are provided automatically
9.3 Other Regions
- International users are charged in USD
- Your bank may apply currency conversion fees
- Local taxes may apply
10. Data After Cancellation
- Your account data remains accessible on the Free Plan
- You can export your data at any time before or after cancellation
- If you delete your account, data is permanently deleted within 30 days
- We do not offer data recovery after account deletion
